Back in November of 2013, Kanye West had a lengthy discussion with "American Psycho" writer Bret Easton Ellis, which was published online as a podcast. 'Ye has been an outspoken fan of the writer (you may recall he did a promo ad for Yeezus based off the "American Psycho" movie), and it turns out the two will have more than just one podcast together in the future. They're working on a film possibly centered around Yeezus.
During an interview with VICE, Ellis confirmed that there is something special in the works, although, it's very hush-hush at the moment. The author reveals that after 'Ye provided him with a preview of Yeezus before it actually hit shelves, he was on board for a film project (at first, he was not).
"You know what, I can’t," Ellis said, when asked if he could provide details on the film project. "It’s in Kanye Land, and that’s subject to a whole other time frame. He came and asked me to write the film. I didn’t want to at first. Then I listened to Yeezus. It was early summer last year and I was driving in my car. He’d given me an advance copy, and I thought, regardless of whether I’m right for this project, I want to work with whoever made this. So fuck it, I said yes. And that’s how it happened. That was seven or eight months ago. We’ll see what happens.
I really like him as a person. I know he comes off in this performance-art way in the press, but if you’re just alone with him in a room talking for three hours, it’s kind of mind-blowing."
This could definitely prove interesting.
