Boogie made a dent on the rap game with his debut mixtape, Thirst 48, which dropped last summer. The mixtape solidified Boogie as one to watch, and had us all vibing (read: smoking) to his relaxed, West Coast sound. After letting us sit with Thirst 48 for almost year, Boogie is finally back with some new music for the blogs fans, and it stands in stark contrast to the chilled out and calmed down Boogie we knew on Thirst 48. "Oh My" may be as turnt up as someone with eyelids that are perpetually low can get. As much energy as Boogie brings on this record, he still kinda sounds like he's rapping conversationally to you, or rather, with you, which is part of his charm. Jahlil Beat's hyped up production is the icing on this banger cake. If you want to bring up the energy even more, we suggest watching the official music video for the song, which finds Boogie and his homies taking over public transport and rooftops, among other locations.
"Oh My" should get you excited for the project it's attached to-- The Reach, due out this summer. You know we'll have it on HNHH!
Quotable Lyrics
I keep it cool cause when you hot
They get to crawling out
Thoughts of cuffin' a thot
Be the reason I ain't thawing out
It's more than bars with them niggas
That you be talking 'bout
You gotta roam the streets
With the niggas that you be calling out
