About a week ago, Bobby Shmurda locked down his $2 million bail reportedly thanks to bail bondsman Ira Judelson. Shmurda's lawyer, Kenneth J. Montgomery, later confirmed the package had been secured, however it needed to be approved by the government before Shmurda would be free.
Well, apparently the bail package has been withdrawn so Shmurda remains locked up for the time being. The New York Times reports today that the $2 million bail which was posted last Friday has been pulled. The office of the special narcotics prosecutor for New York City confirmed this, with spokeswoman Katie Cornell saying, "It’s our understanding that the suretor has withdrawn and that no hearing is currently scheduled."
Shmurda's lawyer, Montgomery, elaborated further on why the bail was withdrawn. Reportedly, the bail had been backed by "management associates" of Shmurda's. "We’re trying to do a new bond application and are in the process in the figuring that out," he told NY Times. "We’re hoping to get it done within the next week."
We'll update you once Shmurda secures bail once more.
