A few minutes ago, we posted the in-studio, black and white video for BJ The Chicago Kid's new track "Real Love Never Dies," and now we've received official audio as well. Check it out below.
Called an "homage to 'King Heroin' by James Brown" in the SoundCloud description, the track retains the musical structure of that spoken-word track, but allows BJ to take the vocals to new heights. Outfitted with a vintage vinyl crackle throughout, this definitely recalls old-school soul music, but BJ's vocals are so similar to early D'angelo that that comparison seems even more apt. Either way, a jam is a jam, and "Real Love Never Dies" is most certainly that.
Quotable Lyrics:
Girl I remember the day I saw you
I knew I wanted to have you
And I had this feeling
That this thing would be more than just one night
