Last week, Birdman headed to Toronto to finalize a Cash Money record deal with Canadian singer J-Soul. It was pretty obvious that something was when Soul posted several pictures of him and Birdman posing together “Last year I was homeless,” he wrote in one caption. “Life’s about to change.”
The deal was formally announced by way of a new video for J-Soul's "Toronto Plaza Motel." The rest of his videos were taken down from YouTube and his music was taken down from SoundCloud.
Birdman is still raking in millions from Drake, the last Toronto artist he signed to Cash Money. Like Drake, J-Soul blurs the line between rapping and singing.
