Birdman sighting! This time, the Eagle doesn't show up in a Jacquees video, and he's not at Club LIV partying with his sworn enemies, either. Instead, the Cash Money boss has dropped off new music! That makes today's song, "Ms. Gladys," which arrives with an accompanying video, the first time he's rapped since the Barter 6, and his first solo record since, who knows, 2012's "Dark Shades," perhaps?
The song, dedicated to his late mother, the woman to whom he speaks on almost every track he appears on, is about what one would expect from a Birdman single. One might be surprised, however, to hear that his mic presence hasn't really dulled in his long absence from the vocal booth. "Hustle right in front of Ms. Gladys," he raps with an unmissable N.O. bounce and an obvious truth to his words. The track also features NOLA rapper Neno Calvin, and the video functions as a tribute to the place that he and Bird call home -- a place where it looks like Baby still gets a whole lotta love.
