There hasn't been much talk about one half of Outkast's next album, as Big Boi prepares for his sophomore solo effort with Vicious Lies and Dangerous rumors. He did recently confirm features that include A$AP Rocky and fellow ATLiens Ludacris and T.I.
Describing the album, Big Boi said it's true to usual Outkast fare, as it will be experimental and a complete body of work, and not just some strewn together singles. "Everything's experimental, it's electro-funk this time...everything brand new," the Atlanta native said, "it's a full body of work, if you've been following Outkast from day one...it's always about the full body of work
As far as features, he did leave one notable name off, in Andre 3000, but did list a couple big names from ATL, and some a well known up and comer, "guest appearances by A$AP Rocky, Ludacris, T.I., Little Dragon, Kelly Rowland, B.o.B."
The topic of when fans can expect a new Outkast project came up, and Big Boi put the onus squarely on the other half of the group, Andre, and said the two are still very close, but he is just waiting to get the green light from Three Stacks. "whenever he's ready, you know what I'm saying, I've been making music and have not stopped making music...whenever my partner's ready we'll do it...I talk to him all the time...that's my partner, my best friend, my brother, till I die," finally adding, "ya'll got to ask him."
Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors is slated for a December 11th release after being pushed back from the original November 13th date.
