With a bevy of Grammys, platinum records and number one singles already under her belt, Beyoncé often seems like she's conquered all their is to conquer in the music world. But on August 24th, at the 2014 VMAs, she'll be given an award she has yet to receive: the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, the VMAs' highest honor.
Joining a class that, as of now, only includes Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Madonna, and MJ himself, Bey will cement her place among the music video age's greatest success stories. Fittingly, Bey goes into this year's award show leading in nominations with eight total.
She will also perform at the ceremony, along with previously-announced artists Usher, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, 5 Seconds of Summer, and Maroon 5. The 2014 VMAs take place at The Forum in Inglewood, CA on Sunday, August 24, at 9 p.m.
