Cash Money nostalgia seems to be the new equivalent to New York's recent bout of Dipset homage. Bankroll Fresh, often hailed as the "next big thing" in Atlanta, has now dedicated yet another mixtape to Lil Wayne's iconic Hot Boys crew, but his tribute has always been more about aesthetic than musical style.
"Everytime," a highlight from the project, is more ATL than New Orleans, but it's also somewhat divorced from the strip-club ready trap stylings of his city. Calling in an organ-driven instrumental from one of the region's most underrated production teams, FKi, Fresh proves himself as something special, without streamlining his sound.
Quotable Lyrics:
Live and learn but I never forget it
I ain't have to ask a nigga to let me
I don't ever have to ask 'em for nothing
Keep it real, nigga, sky is the limit
