Producer Rodney Hazard is prepping his debut album, Victim Volunteer, and for the album's first release he calls upon a New York legend, AZ. The producer cooked up the perfect beat for AZ to wax poetics over, and as AZ says, that was the point. "When I got the beat from Rodney, it was called "Paint", so when I listened to it, it got me in that zone where I just had to paint poetry with my lyrics. When the record was completed, I was like damn this feels like it will be around forever, I need to call it 'Vintage'."
It definitely has a timeless quality to it. Give it a listen.
Victim Volunteer drops March 31st, and will feature Rome Fortune, Jon Waltz, Doley Bernays, Denzil Porter, Ryshon Jones and more.
Quotable Lyrics
Blunts tore, tobacco tossed of course
The boss wants more, no back and forth for shorts
I'm lost, big boys want them big toys
Want that big money, why wouldn't we leave comfy
