Two New Orleans natives come through today with a smooth ass collaboration. August Alsina created a lot of momentum for himself following the success of his debut album, Testimony, but he's slowed down since, partly due to touring and partly due to the fact that he's had a few medical issues: he was in a coma, and then he went through surgery to save his left eye from going blind.
We're glad to hear he's back in the studio, with Weezy no less. The feel-good instrumental is musically-inclined, it seems appropriate given their NOLA origins that the record would have hints of soul and jazz. Look out for his sophomore effort, This Thing Called Life.
The two have collabed in the past on a remix to Alsina's "Kissin On My Tattoos."
How's that Weezy F verse? Stop "boogling" on him. "Boogling" is now my new favorite word.
Quotable Lyrics
If you lookin for your woman she just hopped off
If you lookin for some trouble ain't gotta look far
I put that dick in her stomach she holla 'good lawd'
I put that dick in her stomach she holla 'good God'
These niggas claim that they thuggin they know they good boys
My niggas call me K.G. cause I'm the Kush God
And my coupe don't need a key, I'm talking push, start
