The only Beats 1 show rivaling OVO Sound right now is that of Dr. Dre, "The Pharmacy." Tonight, Dre dropped a few exclusives, including a track from the vaults that didn't quite make Compton and an unexpected Pusha T remix of Drake and Meek Mill's pre-beef banger "R.I.C.O." He also shared new music from young singer/rapper Anderson Paak, who has been an indelible part of L.A. hip-hop this year, appearing on Compton, The Documentary 2.5, and Madlib's Bad Neighbor.
The new single is two songs in one, titled "The Season / Carry Me." Paak has a very distinctive voice, singing with a sense of pain and a hint of funkiness. It sounds like the voice of a man far beyond his years. He's also a naturally talented hip-hop lyricist, and he's at his most exciting when his rugged sung vocals turn into raps and vice versa. "The Season" is produced by 9th Wonder and "Carry Me" by Callum Connar.

Quotable Lyrics
Went from playin' community ball to ballin' with the majors
What you major? Yeah, n*gga, I ran bases
Pitch flame, I call plays, remove labels
And fuck fame, that killed all my favorite entertainers
