Twitter is having fun with the now-suspended player's status.

Ja Morant was suspended on May 14 after flashing a gun on Instagram Live. It is the second time this season that Morant has gotten in trouble for Instagram shenanigans. He was suspended for eight games during the regular season after flashing a gun on an Instagram Live in a Denver nightclub. Since the video went viral on social media, the Grizzlies have suspended the star guard. The NBA is yet to make a statement on the issue.

John Wick is a massively popular film franchise starring Keanu Reeves. The film dives deep into the world of professional assassins, following Reeves' eponymous Wick. The series has become well-known for its masterful cinematography and fantastically choreographed gunplay. This has led to some people drawing comparisons between the films and Ja Morant.

"Ja Wick" first trended after the first time Morant got in trouble for his gun antics. As the news broke about Morant's second suspension emerged, the hashtag began to arise again. "Crazy part is that his friend didn’t know Ja was gonna do that 🤣🤣🤣… cause his friend put the phone down immediately after Ja Wick made his arrival," one user wrote. Bro they were just recording themselves dancing.. he didn’t even have a gun at first. Then out of nowhere he goes full blown Ja Wick," another tweeted.

"Damn Ja Wick..... This should be the end of his career at this point. Can you imagine how many other times not caught on video he's been showing off his guns. And look at those damn comments from ignorant phuckers... They act like its nothing him having a gun," another user added. Some people lamented just how great the name "Ja Wick" is. "Ja Wick would be a fire nickname if it was actually for basketball reasons 😭," commented journalist and influencer Kofie Yeboah. How do you feel about the Ja Wick moniker? What do you think is going to happen to Morant? Let us know in the comments below.
