2 Chainz discusses the promotion of his new album, "B.O.A.T.S. II: #METime," his recent arrest, and his sales projections with The Breakfast Club.

2 Chainz had a big week this past week, celebrating the release of his sophomore solo album, B.O.A.T.S. II: #METime, as well as his birthday on September 12th. With B.O.A.T.S. II now in the hands of Tity Boi's fans, the rapper discusses the promotion of the album and the sales projections with The Breakfast Club on Power 105.1. The lackluster sales projections don't seem to be getting Chainz down, although he admits he'd be upset if it only did 50k in a week.

The conversation begins with B.O.A.T.S. II and Tity 2 Necklace talks about two potentially incriminating tracks (along with his recent legal troubles).

"'Fork' is basically the reality of music and record sales not doing well, someone that has that 'from trap to rap' mentality. And '36' is a brief trap educational, if you will put it, a lot people be talking all kinds of street stuff but they don't know the basics, so I explain the basics," 2 Chainz said, before continuing to discuss his run-in with the cops on his tour bus.

2 Chainz explained, "Nah, I mean it's still all going but for right now we all got charged with obstruction charges, which are misdemeanors, and from my understanding obstruction is basically that we didn't allow the police to do their jobs."

The Def Jam rapper's low sales may be in part due to a lack of albums shipped out, which would be the label's fault. 2 Chainz has previously expressed his disappointment in the amount of LPs that were shipped, but during his interview he said he didn't want to point fingers.

"I'm doing my job...as far as me being on the footwork, doing the groundwork, doing the tours, as far as the radio and the media I feel good about my project and I know what kinda work I put into it," Tity Boi said of his album's promotion. "As far as Def Jam, you don't wanna get into the angry rapper mode and point fingers at different people. I'm still confident in the process of word of mouth as far as marketing and advertising and if anybody even tried to listen to the album they know that it's a problem." "I'm kinda on some laid-back humble stuff right now, 'cause I think I outdid myself on this album, I think I definitely made a better album than my last album and that one definitely exceeded expectations."

If the album does only sell 55-65k opening week, 2 Chainz said, "I care." He continued, "I'm still gunna grind it out. If it does 50,000 I'll probably be mad as hell and do something like buy a car, make myself feel better. But at the same time, I know it's a grind, it's a race, and anybody that knows me knows it's hard to get me down, I'm very optimistic."

Peep the full interview below, where he also discusses Gucci Mane's recent Twitter behavior, and says he'd expect nothing less from the big GuWop.
